Light is essential for both fish and plants. That’s why we set high demands for the efficiency and functionality of our basic fittings
The Effect-Light fitting is probably the most Light-Effective on the market. The specially developed reflector is able to capture nearly all the Light from the Light tubes, which is then fed down to the aquarium. The tube’s deep position in the reflector and its special dish shape provide a relatively narrow inflow of Light. This means the Light’s reflection from the water’s surface is significantly reduced, and an even greater part of the Light is drawn into the aquarium.
The Effect-Light is therefore particularly suited to aquariums with Light-requiring plants or to very high aquariums where standard fittings don't succeed in drawing the Light right down to the aquarium's bottom.
Thanks to the dish shape and the correct position in relation to the Light tube, the Effect-Light discs reflect nearly 100% of the Light from the tubes. 
Furthermore, a large part of the Light hits the water’s surface at an angle of less than 20 degrees, which reduces undesired reflection from the water’s surface.
From a financial and environmental perspective, the Effect-Light fittings are therefore a particularly sensible option. The extremely high efficiency, and therefore the high Light yield per Watt, is an obvious benefit of Effect-Light. But by investing in a dimmable model, you can enjoy even more benefits. The option to reduce, and thereby adjust, the Light quantity according to actual needs, results in quite significant savings to your electricity bill. If you dim a Light tube down to e.g. 50%, the power consumption is approx. the same! And if you turn the Light right down, the power consumption is minimal. A 54W Light tube only uses around 7-8W when turned right down.
The Effect-Line’s dimmable basic fittings are used together with the aquarium computers such as e.g. the Effect-Line Sunriser. The Sunriser allows manual adjustment of Light quantity, but also creates a natural environment for fish and plants by simulating sunrises and sunsets in the aquarium. Read more about the Sunriser.
Connection
The dimmable Effect-Line basic fittings have an extra cable that can be connected to a 1-10V control signal from e.g. the Effect-Line Sunriser for simulating sunrises and sunsets.
Electronic connections
The Effect-Line fittings are supplied with electronic HF connections of a high international quality. The electronic ballast ensures a long lifetime for the tubes and provides a calm flicker-free Light to the aquarium's inhabitants.
The powerful Aluminium profiles that comprise the actual disc are supplied with 2 tracks that keep the reflective plastic foil in place. The reflector foil consists of 2 layers of clear plastic with shiny Aluminium in between and is easy to reMove for cleaning or replacing.

Options
The Effect-Light basic fittings can be added to the Effect-Light all-covering fittings, as well as fittings from other manufacturers, to DIY projects or for hanging above open aquariums etc.

The Effect-Light basic fittings can be built into all generations of Effect-Light all-covering fittings. You can combine T5, T8, dimmable/non-dimmable, exactly as you require. You can also incorporate them with fittings from other manufacturers or in DIY projects. You can, of course, also hang the fittings from the ceiling, if you want an open aquarium.
